1. What is Label Design Studio software?
With this software users can generate tags for personal and professional use. With the help of this program, User can generate amazing stickers in just no time. User can also generate customized labels by adding text, background, data, dynamic shapes, from database etc as per User preference.
2. Does Label Design Studio software support importing of text files?
Yes, stickers can be designed to include different fields like graphics and text with content from text file (fixed length fields, comma separated and others) or any common database with the programs in software.
3. Which format is supported by Label Design Studio?
It supports (*.csv), CSV (Comma delimited), Text file (*.txt) or Microsoft Excel (*.xls).
4. Can a user add his/her own picture to the label?
Yes, User pictures can be added to the stickers. User can simply do it with the help of an icon called 'Browse Picture' in the left menu. After clicking on it, an 'Picture Panel' will appear. User can choose a picture saved in his/her computer to be added to the label. The picture can also be cropped with the help of the crop program.
5. Can template background be changed?
Yes, with the help of this program, template background can be changed. If users are using 'start from blank' feature, then Users can change color of the background with the features and tools present in the background panel. If User starts with the template, then User can change the background template by changing fill type option.
6. How to print a label?
Click on the icon 'Print' in the program bar to print a sticker. After clicking on the icon, a new window called 'Print Preview' will be opened. The window has different options:
  1. Selected page size: Different pages sizes are mentioned in the droplet. User are required to choose the page size to be used in the printer. The option of Custom Size allows user to select the size of the page. The height and width of the page is required to be filled in Inches. The height and width options are already filled in the page size options available in the program.
  2. Print: With the help of it, user can choose the side he/she wants to print. User can select from 3 different options: back, front & crop marks.
  3. Margins: It has sub options like: Right (leaves margin from right side), Left (leaves margin from left side), bottom (leaves margin from bottom), top (leaves margin from top), Padding (leaves margins between two prints) & cell group (leaves margin between cells). The printer will print the label on the page leaving margins of fixed measurement in inches.
  4. Tile: The option allows the users to print labels in rows & columns with a fixed number of copies.
  5. This option 'Tile' has various sub options.
  6. Number of stickers: User can decide the number of tags to be printed. This option is active even if the tile option is not enabled and all the rest sub options work only if User chooses the tile option.
  7. Rows: User can decide on the number of rows to be published. If all the rows are not visible on a single sheet, the remaining rows will be printed on the next sheet. The label rows must be placed according to the size of the page. In case the last row is partially visible, reduce the number of rows.
  8. Columns: User can decide on the number of columns to be published. The no. of columns to be printed actually depends on the size of paper. In case the last column on the sheet is partially visible, decrease the no. of columns. Start row: It allows the users to select the row no. from where User wants to take print. For instance; User wants to print labels from the third row, User are required to enter 3 here. Start column: It allows the users to select column no. from where User wants to take print. For instance; User wishes to print labels of or from the third column, User need to enter number 3 here.
  9. Database: It helps User to print the labels from database (the data already saved in the system). It has some sub options that helps the users to print the labels as per their preference. Database has various sub options: Record from & To: These options allow the users to choose the data to be printed, i.e. from particular number to a particular number (from 1 to 20). For example: if the User wants to print the data from 1 number to 20 number, add 1 in the record 'from' option & enter 20 in 'To' option. The data will be printed from number 1 to number 20. Copies of each record: It enables the users to choose the number of copies needed for each record.
  10. Raster / vector format: The chosen format tells you about the print quality. Raster is a regular printing format & is of good quality, but on zooming, the image may be shown in dots. On the other hand, vector is a high quality printing format usually used in pictures. Vector format doesn't support transparency effects.
After setting all print options, click on Print. Print window will be opened. Here User needs to choose the printer, select page range & fill required no. of copies. Click 'Print' option to print, else click on 'cancel' option.
7. Can a user use his/her own database when using Label Design Studio software?
User can use the database from his/her own computer & then Click on the generate element called 'Connect database'. A new window called 'Import stickers' will open. User can find the data source type of his own choice from this window. It allows the user to choose data source from any of these three types- CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv), Text file (*.txt) or Microsoft Excel (*.xls). After selecting data source type, an option named 'browse' will appear with the help of which the user can browse & select the file name he wants to connect with software. User can also select delimiter type he wants to use. The delimiter has different choices for the user to choose from. There is an option called 'First row' that contains column names. It allows the user to select whether user want software to include first row or not. If the first row contains the names of the columns & user does not want to include it, then he has to select this option, otherwise do not select & the software will include first row. After setting all the options, click on OK. Click reset to edit or reset the options in 'Import labels' & to cancel click 'cancel'.
8. How to start designing a label?
User can start designing a label in 2 different ways-either start from Blank or choose a template. All user need to do is select the option of your choice & click on it from welcome window or opening window.
9. How to select the size of label?
On clicking the Start with Blank, a window called Canvas Size will appear. In this window, user will find the option to change the size of the panel. With this, user can alter the width, height & units of the panel. User can select any one unit type from centimeters, inches & Point.
10. Can a user alter the color of any object used in label?
User can choose any object placed in the worksheet & change its color from property panel on right side of the sheet.
11. Can a user move any content of a label?
Yes, the text in a label can be moved easily & placed anywhere else. The text in the label can also be rotated to any degree with the help of 'Text Property' Panel present on the right side of the workspace.
12. How to make a picture appear transparent?
You can select any object from the workspace & make it transparent to any degree with the help of transparency option on the right side property panel for every object. Upon selecting an object, property panel for that particular object opens in the right side of the workspace. This panel has transparency option that allows the users to give transparency to that particular object.
